The Best Areas In The Country To Find Tech Jobs

With interests rising in tech-related fields, jobs which were once available at ease are becoming harder to find. With that being said, there are some areas that are consistently booming or becoming major players in the industry. If you’re looking for a tech job, consider looking in some of these prosperous areas. Before you start your job search, make sure you have an optimized resume. Make this task easier for yourself with the help of a resume maker.

Silicon Valley

Silicon Valley still holds strong as a booming hub for tech jobs, but no longer are the days where that’s your only option to find your way in that industry. As technology bleeds more and more into everything we do, the idea of a tech job broadens with it. However, if you’re aiming high and want to work at one of the most prestigious tech companies in the country, Silicon Valley is still the best place to look.

New York City, NY

With the broader need of technology in mind, New York City, while more so known for banking and financial careers, now has a need for more tech related roles within those industries. As the world moves more towards an increase in digital banking, stock and investment apps, etc. the need for tech jobs within that is expanding right along side it. New York is a bustling city with a lot of competition, but if you’re up for the challenge, a lot of opportunity can be found in NYC’s tech market.

Charlotte, NC

Another city not typically associated with technology, but according to Forbes, Charlotte has seen a 62% percent increase in tech jobs from 2006 to 2016, with it only continuing to grow. In fact, Charlotte ranked number one in a recent study that looked at the most prosperous areas for tech jobs. Not being Silicon Valley has its advantages in terms of quality of life with a better housing market than other major tech hubs as well as plenty of new homes in Charlotte. If you’re looking for a smaller city with a more affordable cost of living, Charlotte is one of your best bets.

Dallas-Fort Worth, TX

Holding the largest tech force in the South, the great Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex ranks 6th highest nationally in terms of growth, cost of living, and job openings. In fact, Austin also ranks high when it comes to areas with the most tech career opportunities as well as an incredible housing market, so if you’re looking to move south, Texas might be the state for you.

Detroit, MI

Surprisingly, Detroit is one of the most booming areas for tech jobs in 2018. Even with the decline of the center city area, the amount of technology-related jobs has not decreased, with 50% more STEM jobs than the national average. In addition to a plethora of jobs, the Detroit area touts a diverse workforce which is especially encouraged in their tech industry.
